Racing Art/Drawing « Result #2 on Jun 9, 2009, 8:45am »
Hi, Folks;
My June drawing for the free 18x24 canvas painting will be held on June 17th. It was originally scheduled for the 3rd, but I wanted to give more folks a chance to get involved. Here are some of the You Tube features that show how much I love painting racing stuff. Hey, it's the greatest sport in the world! I'm also starting my second book, which will be about an old ghost track in Milton, Vermont. Having said that, this will be the last time I'm offering this type of drawing, because I will be busy painting over a hundred illustrations as well as doing research. If anyone is interested, send your two buck entry fee to:
Mark Osborne 447 Mechanicsville Rd. Apt.#14 Hinesburg, VT 05461
Also, please take time to think about this. Someday, God-willing, my racing art (and books) become popular, the painting you could win, will be real valuable. It's an opportunity to get anything you've ever want painted. And I will post that painting on You Tube. The reason I'm doing this? Just to add to my portfolio. Worse case, you lose two bucks. Look for my Catamount Stadium racing book in about three years!
Skynyrd Painting « Result #4 on Apr 20, 2009, 12:45pm »
I'm so glad photographer Michael Zagaris took the series of photos of the band in 1976. My painting derives from one of those shots, so I wanted to use those poses and do the band in black and white paint only.
Of course, YOU TUBE won't allow me to use Skynyrd music for the video, so I used some relaxing stuff so you can absorb to painting more.
Don't forget about the June drawing for the 18"x24" $2 painting of the winner's choice. So far, I have zero entries, so if you enter, you have a great chance of being that winner.
My address:
Mark Osborne 447 Mechanicsville Rd. Apt.#14 Hinesburg, VT 05461
I should be done with my Lynyrd Skynyrd painting by Saturday!
Have a great weekend all, especially at the races!!
Jake was on his deathbed while his wife, Becky, maintained a steady vigil by his side. As she held his fragile hand, her warm tears ran silently down her face, splashed onto his, and roused him from his slumber. He looked up and his pale lips began to quiver with sound.
"My darling Becky," he whispered.
"Hush, my love," she said. "Go back to sleep Shhh! Don't talk."
But he was insistent. "Becky," he said in his tired voice. "I have to talk. I have something I must confess to you."
"There's nothing to confess," replied the weeping Becky. "It's all right. Everything's all right, go to sleep now."
"No, no. I must die in peace, Becky. I slept with your sister, your best friend and our next door neighbor."
Becky mustered a pained smile and stroked his hand. "Hush now Jake, don't torment yourself. I know all about it," she said. "Why do you think I poisoned you?"
